Population and method

LCA counts include H-1B only and all disclosed statuses. Each case is counted once per decision fiscal year; overlapping files use the latest quarterly disclosure. Positions are declared requests, not unique people or actual H-1B petitions. Certified-withdrawn records are not included in the certified column.

USCIS figures count beneficiaries covered by first approval or denial decisions. They exclude pending cases, later appeals, and revocations. They are not lottery registration counts or a filing-year cohort. New employment includes cap-exempt employment and is not a count of lottery winners.

Name matching ignores periods, commas, letter case, and repeated spaces. Reported names are retained as source aliases. Legal suffixes, DBA names, and other punctuation remain significant; subsidiaries and spelling variants are not automatically combined. Missing source matches remain unavailable rather than becoming zero.
